Our students have enjoyed studying different cultures from around the world. For the past few weeks, we have been studying Mexico. We have researched foods, holidays, clothing, sports, and customs. Students learned how to make the traditional Mexican craft “Ojo de Dios” (Eye of God).

At the conclusion of this unit, we were blessed to have Mr. Margarito Ramirez share with the class about growing up in Mexico. He told stories about his family, demonstrated how to make tortillas, discussed the differences between American/Mexican sports, and gave each child “pesos” to take home as a reminder of his visit. Mr. David Mason, a co worker and friend of Mr. Ramirez, came along to share with the students about an upcoming mission trip to Mexico. He discussed the benefits of multicultural friendships and ways to work together to share the gospel.
